The incessant beeping of the alarm clock jolted Diya from her slumber. Her eyes fluttered open, squinting against the harsh light from the lamp on the nightstand beside her bed. She whimpered softly, trying to sit up and turn off the alarm. It was time to get ready for the office. However, her movement came to an abrupt halt when she realized she couldn't move her hands. A confused frown creased her forehead as she unwillingly opened her eyes completely to get a better look.
